Brief Old-Man Grumble on the Pointlessness of Making Stuff Good

This little bear sings Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’ when you squeeze her paw.

She sings it in a strident, little-girl belt, orphan-Annie style, without much regard for the time signature.

Which is bearable, but this is not:

Oh what a beautiful mornin’,
Oh what a beautiful day,
I got a WONDERFUL feeling,
Everything’s going my way.

Why would Hammerstein spend all that time on the lyric (two weeks, according to legend), only to get his adjectives wrong?  The morning and day are beautiful, so the feeling is too.  A beautiful feeling.  They match, annoying belt-bear.
