Game: Song Lyrics Referred To In Everyday Life Without Any Attachment to the Original Song – No4

No.4

Did someone in the Australian Education Union grow up with Who’s Next, and its leading track “Baba O’Riley”?  Because this, from yesterday’s ABC News –

‘Teenage wasteland’ failing NT kids: AEU

– makes me think somebody did.

I’m pretty sure those two words, side by side, originate with Pete Townshend’s lyric.  I’d happily be corrected on that.  It’s possible that Townshend, whose title refers to Meher Baba and Terry Riley, was thinking of T S Eliot.  I doubt anyone at the AEU was.
