The opening notes of Danny Elfman’s Batman theme are the same as Irving Berlin’s Let’s Face the Music and Dance.

At the end of Stravinsky’s Le Sacre du Printemps (about 2:28 into this video), the trumpets play the opening notes of Isham Jones and Gus Kahn’s It Had to Be You.  Actually, Stravinsky came first, so make that the other way around.

The piano riff at the opening of Split Enz’s Message To My Girl functions as a harmony line to the chorus of this Human League song!  (About 1:12 into this video)  That’s right, you can sing or play one under, or over the other.

Let the lawsuits fly …
