Today’s Rhyme Challenge: silver

What the hell is chilver?  A female lamb?  Seriously, who wouldn’t just say “lamb”?

Waiter, these cutlets seem somewhat dry.  Are they teg, hogget, shearling or chilver?”

I suppose “quicksilver”, which is an identity, is available for poets, but fastidious lyricists avoid the identity.  All three of us.

Derek’s smile is shining,

like rims of silver on a car –

wanna take a ride?

Will Veronica

wanna take a ride?

Once again, hooray for Strine – we don’t pronounce the final “r” in “car”.
